INQUIRIES ABOUT REPRESENTATION

Generally, we represent people incarcerated in the Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC) who are serving lengthy sentences (at least 40 years), have served at least 10 years of their sentence, and have a demonstrated personal growth during their time in prison. We represent our clients pro bono in post-conviction, clemency (commutations), and/or parole proceedings.

We are a small organization with limited capacity to take new clients. However, if you know someone who fits the above criteria and would be interested in being considered for our representation, you may have them write to us at our mailing address, listed at the bottom of this page, and we will get back to them when we can. In order for us to consider representing someone, we request that the incarcerated person write to us directly. In passing along our mailing address, please let the incarcerated person know that it would be helpful to include a bit about the following in their correspondence to us:

-The facts and circumstances of their crime(s);

-Their sentence(s);

-The jurisdiction(s) in which they were prosecuted;

-The procedural history of their case(s);

-How they have spent their time while incarcerated.

Please note that, currently, we do not handle any of the following types of cases or claims:

-Claims of innocence or wrongful conviction;

-Civil claims against the CDOC relating to conditions of confinement;

-Pardons;

-Any claims on behalf of people who are not currently incarcerated.

Please also note that, given our small size, we currently do not have capacity to offer consultations or answer legal questions from non-clients on an individual basis. If you would like to get in contact with us for any other reason, please use the form below.
